Culture
Living Present
Living traditions connecting land, people, spirit, and the African Diaspora
Culture is the living expression of history carried through language, foodways, spirituality, artistry, and community connection across the African Diaspora. Smalls Cultural Resources advances cultural preservation through advocacy, land protection, climate and ocean justice, and strategic partnerships that sustain Gullah Geechee and African-descended communities. From supporting Black farmers and landowners in protecting generational land to organizing heritage festivals, public programming, and community engagement initiatives, this work strengthens identity, belonging, and cultural pride while ensuring our traditions continue to thrive locally and globally.
